Titici super-technological bikes to train the Luna Rossa team (and the auction to save the oceans) – Corriere.it

Three champions, three bikes, one mission: to bring the oldest trophy in the world to Italy for the first time. The Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli team aims to make history and is ready to attack the 36th America’s Cup, which kicks off on March 6 in the waters of New Zealand. At his side in this enterprise TITICI, an Italian brand of excellence in cycling. For the occasion, the Mantuan brand has created the limited edition F-DB02 x Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli bike, three unique specimens made to measure for the three sailing champions: the team director and skipper Max Sirena and the helmsmen James Spithill and Francesco Bruni.

To be able to cross such an important goal, even the smallest details can make a difference and preparation is one of them. The team, already in Auckland in view of the PRADA Cup regattas, can count on the technology and performance of the new TITICI F-DB02 bike and push hard during training. The model developed for Sirena, Bruni and Spithill embodies the highest standards of comfort and performance thanks to the carbon frame which features the thinnest top tube in the world, only 8 millimeters. The Plate Absorber Technology, patented by TITICI, allows the frame to absorb up to 18% more vibrations than the standard ones. Each piece, handmade in Italy with customized graphics, is completed with Pirelli P ZERO tires to give a unique experience to each member of the team and to obtain maximum performance in their outings.

Su CharityStars

A dream bike that will soon also be an object of desire for charity. TITICI and Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli have decided to auction two of the three limited edition models of the F-DB02 model. From 22 January until 22 February it will be possible to make an offer through the CharityStars platform for the bikes of James Spithill and Francesco Bruni. The proceeds from the auction will go to the One Ocean Foundation’s “No plastic in the Ocean” project. The serious problem of “plastic litter”, too often present in the seas around the world, closely affects the activities of Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli and the Italian group Trerè Innovation, owner of the TITICI brand, which have decided to join forces against the plastic pollution. Each euro obtained from the auction will contribute to the collection of 2 kg of plastic waste that threatens the coasts of the Pacific Ocean. Thanks to the help and collaboration of various associations, such as Plastic Bank, the recovered waste will then be re-introduced into the production cycle, favoring the development of a local circular economy.
