Sofia Goggia misses the Cortina World Cup. Right knee fracture in Garmisch’s fall-

The worst was feared after the fall in Garmisch and unfortunately arrived. Sofia Goggia will miss the Cortina World Ski Championships (8-21 February). The 28-year-old financier from Bergamo reported a sprained-contusive trauma to her right knee, she was returning to the valley on the return track after the postponement of the super-G on Sunday.

After immediately returning to Italy, she was subjected to an MRI and a computerized axial tomography at the La Madonnina clinic in Milan by doctors Herbert Schoenhuber and Andrea Panzeri of the Medical Commission of the Winter Sports Federation who showed a compound fracture of the lateral tibial plateau of the right knee.

In the next few days the exact recovery times will be evaluated, Goggia will skip the World Cup and the rehabilitation process will begin in view of the resumption of competitive activity.
