F1, Bottas runs at -22 C ° in Finland to try to beat Hamilton- Corriere.it

Valtteri Bottas he put himself in voluntary isolation, but for once it has nothing to do with Covid. The Finn from Mercedes has been “in retirement” to prepare for the 2021 Formula 1 World Championship – starting from Bahrain on March 28 – in which he hopes, once more, to overtake his teammate and multiple world champion Lewis in the hierarchy Hamilton (who is still waiting to renew the contract).

Concentration and physical preparation too, of course. But in a rather unusual location and for the most uncomfortable: the Lapponia, the northernmost region (e cold) of the Finland. Which in no way prevents him from joking: “It’s a nice time to run too: -22 ° and a bit of freezing wind, but there is no excuse for not training”.

The experience was promptly re-launched on Instagram by Mercedes as well, with a photo of the 31-year-old with a mustache and goatee covered in ice. But Bottas isn’t just limited to work. The good fortune of living in the far north also allowed him to witness the extraordinary spectacle of north dawn.
