Poste Italiane does not stop. The group closed the fourth quarter with a net profit of 308 million euros, up by 18.7% compared to the previous year, and closes the 2020 financial year with a net result of 1.2 billion, down 10.2% compared to 2019. Revenues for the quarter reached approximately 3 billion euros, up by 1.4% compared to the previous year, which brings overall revenues for 2020 to 10.5 billion (-4%). The operating result (EBIT) for the fourth quarter amounted to 280 million euros, + 19.6% compared to the same period of the previous year.
The group also announced a dividend of € 0.486 per share which represents an increase of 5% compared to the previous year. “Poste Italiane – commented the CEO Matteo Del Fante – reported solid results in the fourth quarter, with all segments that contributed to the progression of operating profitability, laying solid foundations for the future growth of all our activities”. Del Fante then emphasized the future and the desire to “leverage the strengths of our business supported by our strategic vision, which has already proved capable of anticipating the main trends”. By analyzing the data in more detail, it emerges how revenues from correspondence, parcels and distribution amounted to 950 million in the quarter, recording an increase of 1.4%. With 210 million packages delivered in 2020, volumes have more than doubled since 2016. While payments and mobile revenues jumped to 215 million, up 15.2%. Revenues from financial services amounted to 1.3 billion, down 0.1%, while revenues from insurance services amounted to 451 million, up 0.1%.
