“Resources for development and cohesion should combat the gaps between territories, for example between north and south, between the Adriatic and Tyrrhenian coasts or between cities and inland areas, but also the problem of the infrastructures of those regions which, being right at the center of the “Central Italy have been isolated and have missed countless opportunities.” This was underlined by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, in Umbria for the signing of the Agreement between the government and the Region for development and cohesion. “When we arrived at the government and started a discussion with almost all the regional governors we wanted to understand why in the 2014-2020 planning 47 of the 126 billion euros available had been spent – adds Meloni – Italy has obvious gaps between territories and it cannot help but bring 70-80 billion to the ground”
