The draw for the group stage of the new edition of the Nations League is scheduled for today at 6pm. The teams are divided into four Leagues, with the Azzurri placed in the first tier of League A. Here are Italy’s possible opponents. Nations League which has now reached its fourth edition and which has become a way to give further interest to the breaks for the national teams.

From this year’s edition, however, there will be some changes, still 4 Leagues, four groups of four for League A, League B and League C, but they will not only be the first to reach the end, a quarter-final round is scheduled final in March 2025, with a round trip between first and second place. The relegation mechanism also changes: the fourth-placed teams from Leagues A and B are relegated directly to Leagues B and C. The two fourth-placed teams with fewer points from League C are relegated to League D. The third-placed teams from Leagues A and B will play a round playoff with the respective third-place teams from Leagues B and C, which will determine further promotions and relegations. There will also be play-offs between the two best fourth-placed teams in League C and the two second-placed teams in League D.

Spain wins the Nations League

Strengthened by their qualification for the final phase in 2023, the Azzurri are naturally in the first bracket with Spain, Croatia and the Netherlands. Portugal and Belgium in the second tier are the opponents not to be faced with, where there are also Hungary and Denmark, while in the third tier Germany and France must be avoided, with the risk of an iron round.
